Richard J Stone

RICHARD J. STONE, age 83, Gainesville, formerly of Lecanto, died March 3, 2015 at Palm Gardens Health and Rehab Center in Gainesville. Richard was born on August 31, 1931 in Englewood, NJ to the late Henry and Sadye (Wides) Stone. He served our country in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. Richard was employed by Navy Exchange Service Command in the sales department and management for over 20 years. He enjoyed gardening, reading, cars and was an avid outdoorsman, spending time sailing, swimming and at the beach. He especially enjoyed spending time with his beloved wife of 61 years, Helen and his family. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Helen M. Stone; sons Bruce Stone and his wife Paula, Jacksonville, FL and Jefrey Stone and his wife Eddine, Virginia Beach, VA; and five grandchildren. A tribute and celebration of Richard’s life will be held on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 4:00 PM at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory with military honors. Memorial donations in Richard’s memory are requested to a veteran’s organization of your choice in lieu of flowers.
