PATRICIA E. LONG, age 71, Hernando, died February 10, 2015 under the loving care of her family and HPH Hospice. Patricia was born on August 5, 1943 in Bronx, NY to the late Raymond and Charlotte (Abbott) Burns. She was a teacher’s assistant in a special education school for over 20 years and was completely devoted to the children, teaching with compassion and kindness. Patricia enjoyed bowling and shopping. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 51 years, Gene Long; children Donna Celardo, Syosett, NY, Gregory (Kathy Zarometidis) Long, White Plains, NY, Christopher (Paul) Long, Lindenhurst, NY, Jean-Louise Long, White Plains, NY and Jaclyn (Rob) Cincotta, Milford, CT; her brother Daniel Burns, Port Charlotte, FL; sisters Carol (Walter) Long, Dunnellon, FL and Charlette (Carl) Nowicki, Port Charlotte, FL; 14 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Daniel and a brother Raymond. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known her. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory is assisting the family with private arrangements.
