Charles D Hornaday

Charles (Chuck) Deming Hornaday, 82, of Inverness, Florida and Wautoma, Wisconsin (formerly Arlington Heights, IL) passed on to be with the Lord on January 28, 2015 in Inverness, Florida surrounded by his loving family. Charles was born in Hamburg, New York on September 2, 1932 to Kathryn and Hilton Parks Hornaday. Loving husband to Mary Elaine Hornaday (nee Ahrens) married June 5th, 1954. He graduated from Bowling Green State University with a degree in journalism and later served as publisher for the Aberdeen Group and retired in December 1992. Chuck arrived in this area in 1994, coming from Arlington Heights, IL. He enjoyed fishing, boating, researching genealogy, traveling (traveling once a year to Canada for 20 years for fishing), and the outdoors. He was the family patriarch of a large family, an amazing role model, and a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend. Chuck was a Christian by faith, and is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Mary Elaine (Laney) Hornaday, their four children Kathryn Harrison of Cary Illinois, Susan Schafer of Palatine Illinois, Lori (William) Van Diggelen of Cary Illinois and Charles J. (Beverly) Hornaday of Arlington Heights, Illinois. He was a loving grandfather of Nicole (Colin) Boyle, Eric (Lindsey) Hoelter, Michelle Schafer, Anna (Matt) Radke, Andrew (Jennifer) Hoelter, Julia Harrison, Charles J. Hornaday (Kristy Brelsford), Alexander Hoelter, Alan Warneke, Leah Harrison, Robert Warneke. He was the loving great-grandfather of nine. Charles was preceded in death by his parents Kathryn and Hilton Parks Hornaday his brothers Hilton and James Hornaday, his son-in-law Galen Harrison, and his grandchild Craig Hoelter.
Services will be held at the First Congregational Church 231 Roberts Drive, Mukwonago, Wisconsin 53149 at 3:30 pm on Sunday February 8th, 2015. Interment will be held at a later date at Oak Knoll Cemetery in Mukwonago Wisconsin. And he will dwell in the house of the Lord forevermore.
