Laverne R Duncan

LAVERNE R. DUNCAN, age 82, Inverness, died January 2, 2015 at Shands at UF in Gainesville. Laverne was born on July 26, 1932 in Chicago, IL to the late John A. and Bertha E. (Rich) Niven. She was employed by the Lee County Library System as a library clerk for 13 years. Laverne was a member of DAV #96 Auxiliary of Lake Panasoffkee, VFW #4337 Ladies Auxiliary of Inverness, the Citrus Memorial Auxiliary and SHARE Club. She always enjoyed helping people and did so through a lifetime of volunteering. Left to cherish her memory are her stepdaughters Claudia Fehrs, Fort Worth, TX, Karen Amos, Sterling, VA, Cristine Hankins, Ocala, FL and Cathleen Walker, Boca Raton, FL, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her children Richard, John, Mary and Edward. A celebration of life and memorial tribute will be scheduled at a later date. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
