Romie L. Holstein, Sr., 79 of Inverness, Florida passed away December 7, 2014 at his residence in Inverness. He was born on July 4, 1935 in Gamoca, W. VA to the late Clisie and Sadie (Carson) Holstein. Romie was a salesman in the insurance and real estate businesses, and a U.S. Army veteran. He arrived in this area in 1986, coming from W.VA. Romie played football and basketball at Nicholas County High School in Summerville, W.VA and attended Fairmont State College on a football scholarship prior to his military service. He enjoyed bike riding, golfing, and liked all types of sports. He is now back with the love of his life, Alberta Holstein, who preceded him death in 2013. He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Jerry Holstein and Infant boy Holstein and one sister, Donna Joyce Holstein. Survivors include is children Romie Lee Holstein, Charles L.(Sheryl) Holstein of Lecanto, FL, Clifford (Angela) Holstein of Eustis, FL, and Laureen (Brian) Holstein Greenberg of Boynton Beach, FL; brothers Larry (Christine) Holstein of Swiss, W.VA, Gary (Millie) Holsten of Charleston, W.VA; sisters Billie (Danny) Webb of Roanoke, VA, and Carol Holstein of Fayetteville, W. VA; grandchildren Bambi, Jordan, Addison, Sidney, Justen, Hannah, Steven and Danielle; and great-grandchildren Leah, Bryant, Gavin and Riley. Private cremation arrangements are under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
