Lucille Simmons

Lucille Simmons, 84 of Weeki Wachee, went to be with her Lord at home on October 2, 2014, under the loving care of her family and HPH Hospice. Lucille was born on October 17, 1929, in Tucker County, West Virginia to the late Oscar and Jessie (Sponaugle) Bodkin. Lucille was deeply devoted to studying her Bible and enjoyed reading Amish books. She made beautiful gifts for family and friends with her crochet and knitted pieces. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Glenn Dale Simmons and her brother Lawrence Bodkin. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Deebra Jackson and her husband, Dale, and Patricia Simmons both of Weeki Wachee, FL; her sisters: Hilda Williams and Arlene Deets both of West Virginia; her grandchildren: James Glenn Harris, Carrie Ladawn Harris Oliveto, Anthia Nicholas and Desiree White, 10 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson, Ryder Harris. Private cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory of Inverness. A memorial service and inurnment will be scheduled by the family for a later date.
