DEROY M. SEIBERT, age 79, went home to His Lord on September 30, 2014. DeRoy was born on July 25, 1935 in Fairport, NY. His parents were the late Spurgeon and Isabelle Edwards Seibert. He served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War. DeRoy worked for Corning Glass Works for 37 years as a lathe operator. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Inverness, where he enjoyed weekly luncheons with the men whenever he could. After retirement, he became a locksmith. He loved his train collection. DeRoy is survived by his wife of 35 years, Elizabeth, his son Michael (Cindy) Seibert of Gales Ferry, CT; daughters Bonnie Purvis, Lewistown, PA, Jane (Rich Chase) Cook, Corning, NY and Sherri (Gordie) Swarthout, Beaverdams, NY; step-sons Keith Eddy, Inverness, Chip (Donna) Bollinger, Stovall, NC, step-daughters Kristal (Tom) Herrick, Webster, NY, Dianna (Evan) Chrzan, Oxford, NC; 19 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a brother, Don Myers of Fort Myers, FL. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Myers and sisters Anabelle and Mary. Funeral services will be held at Richardson Funeral Home in Louisburg, NC with burial in Fairview Cemetery with military honors in Franklinton, NY. A further celebration of life service will be held at Victory Baptist Church in Inverness on Saturday, October 18 at 12:00 Noon. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory is assisting the family with local arrangements.
