JOYCE F. MEANS, age 85, Inverness, died August 21, 2014 surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Hospice of Citrus County. Joyce was born on May 3, 1929 in Chattanooga, OK to the late Charles and Mary (West) Patterson. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she enjoyed music, singing and dancing. She was a great storyteller, with a wonderful sense of humor. A fabulous cook, she was well known for her Sunday dinners. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 67 years, Benjamin J. Means; her son Steven (Susan) Means, Phoenix, AZ; daughters, Terri Lee Means, Denver, CO and Mary Ann Sooner Means, Port St. Lucie, FL; her twin brother Royce R. Patterson, Colorado Springs, CO; nephews and nieces Wayne Patterson, Cathy and Mike Cunningham, Bernard Means and other extended family; grandchildren Jessica and Lyla and great-grandchildren Jordan, Ramsey, Kaitlyn and Lillian. A Funeral Service of Remembrance will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home. The family will greet friends in visitation from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service. Burial will follow on Monday, August 25, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Florida National Cemetery. The family requests donations in Joyce’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in lieu of flowers.
