Catherine L Elam

Catherine Louise Elam, 76, of Lecanto, Florida passed away July 18, 2014 at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness, Florida. She was born on April 24, 1938 in Hurricane, W. VA. to the late George L. and Doris M. (Bryant) Persinger. Catherine was a homemaker and arrived in this area in 1986, coming from Miami, FL. She was a Baptist by faith, and attended Trinity Baptist Church, Inverness. She was preceded in death by one brother Robert, and one sister Martha. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, CDR. Jack Leon Elam. Other survivors include her daughters Valerie (John) Lincoln of St. Petersburg, FL, and Vickie (Dreux) LeGros of Rowlett, TX; siblings, Charles, Frank, and John Persinger, and Pauline Stewert, Carol Young, and Charolotte Davis; grandchildren Bruce, Melissa, and Emma; and great-grandchildren Logan, Wolfgang, Ty, and Harley. A Funeral Service of Remembrance for Catherine is scheduled for Monday, July 21, 1:00 P.M. at Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness. Burial will follow the service at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
