Virginia C Markey

VIRGINIA C. MARKEY, age 89, Inverness, died June 5, 2014 at Citrus Health and Rehab Center, surrounded by her loving family. A native Floridian, Virginia was born in St. Petersburg on February 1, 1925 to the late Clyde and Sarah Elizabeth (Herb) McBrien. She graduated from St. Petersburg High School with the Class of ’43. She was employed by Orange Blossom Groves. Virginia was a member of Fort Cooper DAR and the Roger Williams Family Association. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she was an excellent cook, seamstress and even knew how to upholster furniture. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Beverly (husband-Terry) Gentry, Inverness, Karen (husband-Mike) Janczy, Waldorf, MD and Kathy (husband-Billy) Daugherty, Seminole, FL; a sister June Harvey, Jacksonville, FL; seven grandchildren and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Donald and her son, Donald Markey, Jr. Inurnment will take place at a later date next to her beloved husband at Bay Pines Cemetery. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory is in charge of private arrangements.
