Thomas E. Jenkins

Thomas Edwin Jenkins, age 83, Floral City, died June 4, 2014 at Woodland Terrace. A native Floridian, Thomas was born in Palm Harbor on March 9, 1931 to the late Guy B. and Mary Belle (Sutton) Jenkins. An excellent mechanic, who helped many of his friends and neighbors with their automotive problems, he was employed as an automotive service writer. He served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Thomas enjoyed pickin-n-grinnin, fishing and NASCAR racing. He was admired for being an adventurous food eater, especially spicy dishes. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 60 years, Dora Darlene Jenkins, his son Joe Jenkins and fiancee Patty Summy, all of Floral City, brother Larry Jenkins, Dunedin and sister Virginia Worsham, Palm Harbor; four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Graveside committal service will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Curlew Pioneer Cemetery next to the Curlew United Methodist Church in Palm Harbor. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
