Richard Mayer Levy, age 75, passed away on May 9, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph M. Levy and Jewel Freidman Levy, and his sister, Carol Fisher, all of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is survived by his devoted wife, Martha, son and daughter-in-law David and Barbara Levy, daughter and son-in-law Amy and Wayne Sherman, stepson and daughter-in-law Alex and Nina Stoeck, grandchildren Jenna Sherman, Oliver and Benjamin Levy, and Charlotte and Barbara Stoeck. Born in Pittsburgh on April 22, 1939, he attended Miami University of Ohio. In 1960 he began his career with Royal of Pittsburgh, a costume jewelry wholesaler. In early 1972 he moved to Denver, Colorado, where he established a furniture wholesale company, RML and Associates, which remained in business for over 25 years. In 1989 he moved to Lynden, Washington. Richard and Martha married in 2002 and moved to Hernando, Florida where they maintained an active retirement together for 12 years. Richard was an avid watch collector with a special expertise in pocket watches. He maintained an active trading business in rare watch parts and tools for many years. Richard was best known for his ability to meet people and put them at ease, and could often be seen riding his Segway around the neighborhood visiting friends and talking to people on the street. The family will receive his many friends at a memorial service which will be held at Charles E. Davis Funeral Home in Inverness, Florida on Thursday, May 15th at 4:00pm.
