NORMAN ROBERT GALLANT, age 68, Floral City, died April 11, 2014 surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Hospice of Citrus County. Norman was born on April 29, 1945 in Fall River, MA to the late Norman B. And Loretta (Hunt) Gallant. He served our country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era aboard ship as a navigator of Hurricane planes. Norman was the owner/operator of his own auto body repair shop for many years. He enjoyed socializing with his friends, surfing the Internet for research in history and science and was an Internet Poker Champ. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 20 years, Linda Gallant; his son Jason (Crystal) Gallant, Newport, NC; stepson Jason (Gretchen) Gray, Leesburg, FL; brothers Rick Gallant, Safety Harbour, FL, Dennis Gallant, Largo, FL, David (Candy) Gallant, Inverness and Donald (Mary) Gallant, Edison, NJ, sisters Janine Gallant, West Keansburg, NJ and Michelle (Leon) Fowler, Lorton, VA; grand-stepchildren Blake Robinson and Ansley and Andon Gray, several nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by a sister Diane Stewart. A tribute to Norman’s life will be held on Monday, April 14, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory with military honors. The family will greet friends in visitation from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service. Burial will be later at the Florida National Cemetery.
