Howard Smith, 94, of Floral City, Florida passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at his residence in Floral City. He was born on September 16, 1919 in Branford, Florida to the late Matt and Estelle (Langston) Smith. Howard was a Job Superintendent in the construction industry, and a U. S. Navy veteran of WWII. He arrived in this area in 1982, coming from Tampa, Florida, attended First Baptist Church, Floral City, and enjoyed fishing and gardening. He is preceded in death by his wife Pearl Smith, and two sons Jerry Smith and Dewayne E. Smith. Survivors include son Robert W. (Pam) Smith of Baldwin, Florida, and daughter Alice Faye Jones of Jacksonville, Florida; Dewayne’s wife, April Smith, 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. The family will be receiving friends at the First Baptist Church, Floral City, on Saturday, March 8, 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M., with a funeral service at 11:00 A.M.. Funeral services will continue on Monday, March 10, with the family receiving friends from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M., and funeral services at 11:00 A.M. at Priscilla Baptist Church, Bell, Florida. Interment will follow at the Priscilla Baptist Church Cemetery. Arrangements under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, Florida.
