Archie McKinley Wilson, Jr., age 90, Lecanto, died February 13, 2014 at his residence in Brentwood. Archie was born on March 28, 1923 in Springfield, OH to the late Archie M. Wilson, Sr. and Mildred L. Wilson. He served our country in the United States Army. He enjoyed playing his guitar throughout his lifetime, entertaining fellow troops during his service time in WWII. He was employed as a superintendent for an aircraft parts manufacturing company, Steel Products, a division of Kelsey-Hayes. He was known in his household as “Mr. Fix-it” especially when it came to lawn mowers. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters Judith Ann Wilson, Beverly Hills and Dotty and her husband Marvin Small, Homosassa; his sister Beverly Frye, Dayton, OH; four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Velma Jane and three brothers, Roger, Garner and Richard. The family invites friends to join them at a celebration of Archie\’s life on Monday, February 24, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Hernando Church of the Nazarene. The family will greet friends in visitation from 10:00 until the hour of service. Immediately after the service, military honors will be rendered. Inurnment will take place privately at Florida National Cemetery. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
