Luis Mario George, Sr., age 85, passed away at his residence on February 3, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Luis was born in Naguabo, Puerto Rico to the late Ashley and Modesta George. He served our country in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. Luis was employed by the Autoridad de Puertos of Puerto Rico as a port mariner and then a supervisor of shipping in the garment industry. He enjoyed boating and fishing, and was known as “Mr. Fix-It” to his family because he could repair anything around the house. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Esther George; his son Luis Mario George, Jr. and his wife Gloria, Citrus Springs; daughter Esther Milagro George-Carreras and her husband Steve, Summerfield; four grandchildren; brothers Sergio, Wilfredo and Averaldo George, all of Bronx, NY. He was preceded in death by his brother Ashley and his sister Margarita. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, February 10, 2014 at 1:00 PM from Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Florida National Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends in visitation from 11:00 AM until the procession leaves for the church at Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory.
