Frances M Burgess

Frances M. Burgess, 78, of Floral City, Florida passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Citrus Memorial Hospital. She was born on February 20, 1935 in West Plains, Missouri to the late Robert Ellis and Frances (Salimas) Dickson. Frances was secretary for the Governor of the U.S. Virgin Islands, and arrived in Florida in 1980, coming from the U.S. Virgin Islands. She was a Presbyterian by faith, loved painting, and enjoyed reading, traveling, and spending time with her family. Survivors include her children, Michael Anthony (Elaine) Burgess of Naples, Florida, David T. (Ruth Marie) Burgess of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, Norman Clifford Burgess, Jr. of Bridgewater, New Jersey, Patricia (Bill) Goodspeed-Payne of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, Marianne (Richard L.) Edmonds of Florence, Kentucky, Melody (Robert) Burgess-Underwood of Naples, Florida, and Marlaine Artis Burgess of England; brothers Ralph William and Patrick Dickson; sister Barbara Jean Watkins; 16 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Private cremation arrangements under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, Florida.
