John C Townsend

John C. Townsend, 77, of Brooksville, Florida, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2013. He was born in Lynn, Massachusetts on February 6, 1936 to the late Albert and Madline (Celly) Townsend. John was a retired MBTA police sergeant and one of the original officers of MBTA. He arrived in this area in 1991, coming from Brockton, Massachusetts. He was a U.S. Army veteran holding the rank of Staff Sergeant, and enjoyed playing computer chess, and spending time with family. He was preceded in death by his first wife of forty-eight years, Kay M. Townsend. Survivors include his loving wife Jeanie Townsend. Other survivors include children Richard (Theresa) Townsend of Holbrook, Massachusetts, John (Theresa) Townsend of Havana, Florida, and Alan Townsend of Hernando, Florida, Jennie Zewiey of Inverness, Florida, Susan (John) Nesserella of Brooksville, Florida, and Tammy (John) Fernandes of Brockton, Massachusetts, brother Al Townsend and sister Nettie Casey, step children Michael, Lena, and William, nine Grandchildren and six Great-Grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service is scheduled for Friday, November 8, 10:00 A.M. at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, Florida. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service.
