Robert L Bedell MD

Dr. Robert Lee Bedell, 72, passed away on October 15th, 2013 in an automobile accident. He received his medical degree from the University of Miami and practiced Obstetrics & Gynecology in Miami, FL for 22 years.
He served as a Flight Surgeon for the USAF Reserve during which time he received the Bronze Star Medal for Meritorious Service, Air Medal for Meritorious Achievement and the Airman’s Medal for Heroism.
For the last seven years he served as medical director for the Citrus County Branch of Hernando-Pasco Hospice.
He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Deborah Bedell, his sons David Bedell and Robert Bedell, his daughters Victoria Bedell, Sarah Bedell and Joanna Bedell and stepson David Wayne Matthews; his grandchildren Mason Bedell, Colette Bedell, Michael Bedell and Grace Bedell.
Robert was a loving husband, caring father, loyal friend and dedicated physician. While a significant amount of Robert’s life was spent serving others, he also enjoyed adventure, travel and being at sea. He loved fishing, boating, hunting and classical music. The impact he had on his family and friends will be impossible to forget.

There will be a memorial service at the First Presbyterian Church in Vero Beach on Saturday, October 19th at 11:00am (today) officiated by Reverend Dr. G. Timothy Womack. A private family gathering at the Bedell home will follow. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory
