Susan Gail Lewis, 74, of Inverness, Florida passed away Saturday, October 12, 2013 under the care or Hospice of Citrus County. She was born on January 20, 1939 in Beverly, Massachusetts to the late William F. and Eleanor (Robertson) Mackenzie. Susan was a Registered Nurse, and arrived in this area in 2006, coming from Fredericksburg, Virginia, and attended St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church. She was an avid oil painting artist, winning many show ribbons. Susan was also a world wide traveller, animal lover, gardener, and never forgot her Yankee roots. She was preceded in death by two brothers, William and David Mackenzie. She is survived by her loving husband of seven years, LeNoir H. Lewis of Inverness. Other survivors include her children, Mark F. (Christine) Mitchell of New Hampshire, and David W. (Michell) Mitchell of Utah; Deborah Mitchell of Massachusetts; sister Jane Jenkins of Massachusetts; eight grandchildren and two great-grandsons. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service is scheduled Tuesday, October 22, 10:00 A.M. at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness, with a family gathering one hour prior to service. Burial will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
