Hubert Lee Forbus, 84, Inverness died at home on May 15, 2013. Mr Forbus was born in Point Pleasant, WV on April 11, 1929 to the late Lloyd and Frieda (Jacobs) Forbus and came to this area 29 years ago from there. He was a retired mill operator for Kaiser Aluminum Company in Ravenswood, WV with 26 years of service, served our country in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict, and was a member of the Hernando Church of The Nazarene. He was a former member of the Bellmead United Methodist Church for over 20 years and the Civil Air Patrol in West Virginia; additionally, he earned his private pilot’s license. Hubert also enjoyed building houses and model airplanes. Hubert and Mary loved to travel and visited all 50 states and Canada during their retirement.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Powell Forbus; 2 children, David Forbus of Pt. Pleasant, WV and Zach Forbus and his wife Carmon of Inverness; 3 sisters, Betty Mitchell, Lafayette, LA; Ruth Thomas, Finley, OH; Janet Holland, Pt Pleasant, WV; 2 grandchildren, Colton and McKenzie Forbus.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted on Monday, May 20th at 3:00 PM from the Chas E Davis Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Hodges of the Hernando Church of The Nazarene officiating followed by Military Honors.
