Chester M. Wheeler, 54, Inverness, died May 8, 2013 in Citrus Memorial Hospital. Chester was born in Morgantown, West Virginia on Oct 22, 1958 to the late Chester Martin Wheeler and Mary Jenkins Wheeler and came to this area in 1985 from Charleston, WV. Prior to his retirement, he owned Wheeler’s Locksmith in Inverness. He was always interested in helping people and spending quality time with his family and many friends. While in West Virginia, he volunteered his time as an ambulance driver. After moving here, he volunteered at Hernando Elementary School doing carpenter work and building reading lofts for the children. He gave many hours to CASA, assisting clients who required lock smith work at no charge. He always helped those in need, no matter the hour.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 38 years, Debbie Wheeler; 5 children, Angie Smallwood, Lecanto; Willy Wheeler and Chester Wheeler of Inverness; Robert Wheeler, Beverly Hills; Ashley Wheeler, Inverness; 1 brother, John of West Virginia and several half brothers and sisters of Michigan. 5 Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Herb and a sister, Paulette Ellis;
Chester’s life will be celebrated on Sunday, May 12th at 3:00 PM at the Chas E Davis Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Alexander officiating. Friends are invited to fellowship with the family on Sunday from 2:00 PM until the hour of service. Following services, there will be a procession from the funeral home to his locksmith shop, after which the family and friends are dismissed.
