Lucien J Houle

LUCIEN J. HOULE, age 81, Barre, VT and Inverness, FL died April 2, 2013 under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Citrus County. A native of Barre, VT, he was born on February 2, 1932 to the late Rene and Lucy Cosgrand Houle. On January 15, 1955, he married Eunice Emond Houle in St. Monica Church in Barre. He owned and operated Houle Service Station in Barre until 1959. He then started a used auto business and moved his business to Main Street where it was the Datsun (later changed to Nissan) dealership; also Volvo and Jeep dealerships for the Barre area. In 1987, he sold the auto business and he and his wife relocated to Inverness, FL where they spent the winters. He then went into the used airplane business and bought and sold several hundred small single and twin engine planes; he enjoyed both of these businesses immensely. He had a love of motorcycles and later trikes. Survivors include his wife Eunice Emond Houle and their four children, Nancy Pierce and husband Jim, Huntsville, AL; Craig and wife Lori Booth-Houle, Phoenix, AZ, Dorinda Olson and husband Jeff, Owens Cross Roads, AL, Judy Houle from Clermont, FL; two grandchildren, Courtney Pierce Mays and Shelley Pierce Jackson and husband Lamar; one great-granddaughter, Lilly Mays; sister Germain Ferry and many nieces and nephews who loved him very much. He was preceded in death by brothers Eugene, Romeo, Roger and sisters Simone and Rita. A Funeral Tribute to Lucien will be held on Monday, April 8, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends in visitation from 10:00 AM until the hour of service. Burial will follow at a later date in Hope Cemetery in Barre.
