Edward Ralph Gravius, 86, of Floral City, Florida passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Arbor Trail Rehab & Nursing in Inverness, Florida. He was born in Syracuse, New York on September 5, 1926 to the late Ralph and Gertrude (Cove) Gravius. Edward was a US Coast Guard Lieutenant Commander during WWII, and a Central Office Technician for Southern Bell Telephone for thirty years. He arrived in this area in 1989, coming from Miami, and was a protestant. Edward enjoyed woodworking and spending time with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Nola Gravius. Left to cherish his memory are three sons, Christopher (Denise), Todd (Eva), and Mark Gravius, all of Syracuse; one daughter, Christine (Michael) Serafini of Cape Coral, Florida; and nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; step children,Sandra Sutor, Kevin (Carlene) Ottenbaker, Keith Ottenbaker, Kirk Ottenbaker, Ken (Lisa) Lovelace, Karen Schmaltz, and Bill Vawter. Interment was at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness.
