Richard L. Little, 94, of Citrus Springs, Fla., passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020 in Inverness, Fla. He was born on August 3, 1926 in East Peoria, Ill to Roy and Oneita Little. Rich was married on March 3, 1951 to Bonnie L. Price and was a devoted husband for 61 years. As a young man, he was proud to serve in the United States Navy as a Motor Operator Machinist (MOMM3) from 1944-1946. He served during World War II in the South Pacific. While living in Illinois, Rich worked at Cilco Light Company and was the owner/operator of a Dairy Queen restaurant and the Dream Hut (an independent ice cream parlor). Throughout his life, Rich enjoyed traveling, square dancing, fishing, playing cards, serving on the Englewood Turtle Patrol, and spending quality time with his family and friends.
He was survived in life by sons; Edwin Little of Inverness Fla., and Richard Little and wife Melody of Marquette Heights, Ill.; brothers, Leroy Little and wife Joanne of Williamsfield Ill., Dale Little and wife Carol of Avon Ill.; sister, Valerie Pecoy of Williamsfield Ill.; eight grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents Roy Little and Oneita Billmeyer; wife, Bonnie L. Little; daughter, Teresa S. Smith; brother, Gene Little; and sisters, Fern Rodemich, Leona Yelm, and Phyliss Kness. Rich was a strong, proud, and good man. He will be missed by many! A private memorial service and inurnment will be scheduled at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla.
