Roy E. Wright, 84 of Inverness, died Thursday, April 14, 2016 at his home. Roy came here in 1981 from his native Charleston, West Virginia where he was born on April 17, 1931 to the late James E. and Edith (Adkins) Wright. Roy worked in the school system’s maintenance department. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Dale A. Wright and Robbie (Erica) Wright, both of Inverness; his daughter, Teresa “Terri” Wright of Inverness; 2 brothers, Robert and Paul ; sisters, Delores Mamoran and Phyllis Hall; 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Roy was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Violet, on Oct. 7, 1993, his brother, Malcolm and sisters, Louise Smith, Ruth McCormick, and Sue Ballard. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home of Inverness from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon. Burial will follow at the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Inverness.
