Judith Lee Schmutzer

Judith Lee Schmutzer, of Hernando, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025 in Inverness at HCA Citrus Memorial. She was 81. Judy was born in Chicago, Illinois to Lewis M. and Dorothy Jane (McAllister) Simon. She was a Junior High School teacher, and loved every minute of it. She loved challenging, molding, and teaching young minds and encouraging them to learn. Judy was a kind and generous person, and will be fondly remembered by all of those who knew her. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 38 years in 2019, Joel J. Schmutzer. Those left to cherish her memory are her devoted brother Lewis F. Simon, of Inverness, and several other family members. Private cremation arrangements are under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Cremation Care, Inverness.
