In Loving Memory of Retired Battalion Chief Jeffrey Jenkins

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Retired Battalion Chief Jeffrey Jenkins, who passed on March 18, 2025 surrounded by his loving family under hospice care at his home. Born in 1943 in Washington, D.C., Jeff was a devoted husband to Patricia and stepfather to Sandee Daubenspeck.

Jeff’s life was marked by service and adventure. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1961 after graduating from James Madison High School in Vienna, VA. He began his firefighting career as a volunteer at the Dunn Loring Fire Department in 1961, later serving 23.5 years with Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department, forging lasting friendships.

Jeff and Patricia celebrated 50 years of marriage in August 2024 and spent a decade traveling the U.S. in their motorhome, making countless friends along the way. They settled in Citrus Springs, Florida, where they were joined by their loyal pup Coco, who brought immense joy until her passing in December 2024.

Jeff, the eldest son of Louis and Myrtle Jenkins, passed away, leaving behind a loving family that includes his wife Patricia, brother Scott Jenkins and his wife Sandy, son Stephen, stepdaughter Sandee Daubenspeck and her husband Rob, grandson Jared Daubenspeck and his wife Mallory, and great-grandchildren Silas, Riley, and Violet.
