Linda (Marx) Prather, a gifted artist, dancer, and loving mother, passed away peacefully under Hospice care at her home on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. She was 79. Linda was born on October 17, 1945, in Columbus, Ohio to Harold and Helen (Newpoff) Marx. Throughout her life, she embraced adventure, calling Ohio, New York, Las Vegas, Texas, Louisiana and Florida home.
Linda had a deep passion for jazz dance and was honored to study under the legendary Luigi in New York City. She was also a talented singer, with a voice reminiscent of Barbra Streisand. Linda was a skilled artist who expressed herself beautifully through drawing.
Creativity was at the heart of who she was, and she found joy in movement, music, and art. Linda was a Christian.
In her later years, she found comfort and love in Florida, where she was cared for by her daughter and son-in-law. Linda’s strength, talent, and warmth will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, and one of her brothers Steven Marx. She is survived by her daughters Ashley Breaux of Avondale, Louisiana and Harlow Prather-Nieves (Elliot) of Beverly Hills, Florida; her brother Jeffery Marx of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; and her grandson Shane Prather of Pueblo, Colorado.
Private cremation arrangements are under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Cremation Care, Inverness.
