Ronald “Ron” D. Rothe

Ronald Dale “Ron” Rothe, age 82, died at HCA Bayonet Point Hospital in Hudson, FL on February 17, 2025. Born in Green Bay, WI, he was the son of the late Armond and Elizabeth Johnson Rothe.  He served in the U.S. Army (Reserves).

Ron and his wife of 46 years, Vivian, relocated to Florida upon retirement in 2000. He was active in his church, St. Thomas the Apostle, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Moose and Elks Lodge.  A man of many talents, Ron liked to stay busy. He enjoyed fishing, and taking time with his woodworking projects. And, he could surprise you with his karaoke performances at the Elks Lodge.

Left to cherish his memory in addition to his wife, Vivian are his children and step children, Brent Rothe, Thomas Foote, Dawn Burns, Tina Christophersen, and Terri Grun; his brothers and sister, James Rothe, Kenneth Rothe, and Darlene Andrews. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren (plus two on the way!). His daughter Jill Pogrant preceded him in death.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 14th, 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Homosassa, FL, Rev. Msgr. Joseph Sobiesiak presiding. The Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory of Inverness, Florida is assisting the family with arrangements.

    Whenever we saw Ron he had a smile on his face. He loved karaoke and we loved listening to him sing.
    Vivian, just know that we will always remember your dear husband.
