Harold “Harry” Kratzer, 87 years, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2025, at 5:50 A.M., at HPH Citrus House in Lecanto, FL, surrounded by his loving family.
Harry was born on March 2, 1937 in New York City, to the late August and Theresa Kratzer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Theresa Kratzer; his son, James; and his sister, Hilda Ott. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Nancy; daughter, Lisa Haszto; granddaughter, Stephanie Haszto and her husband, Thomas Pitt; and great granddaughter, Alisa Pitt.
Harry graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School and Hofstra University on Long Island with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He proudly served 4 years in the U.S. Navy with over a year in Electronics Gun Fire Control school in Bainbridge, Maryland and almost 3 years aboard the Destroyer USS Rich 820 out of Norfolk, Virginia.
Harry was employed as Director of Military Systems at ILC Data Device Corporation in Bohemia, Long Island before retiring in 1991. He and Nancy moved to Inverness in 1993 and he loved living here very much. Harry Loved to work with wood and do home improvement projects. He served 10 years on the Board of the Windermere Homeowners Association as Treasurer and some of those years also as Secretary. He has also served several years on the City of Inverness Code Enforcement Board.
Military Honors will be rendered at Florida National Cemetery. The tentative date is Monday, March 10, 2025. The time will be announced. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home With Crematory is assisting the family.
