Carine P. Smolensky

Carine P. Smolensky, of Inverness, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, January 26, 2025. She was 84. Carine was born on June 6, 1940, in Arcadia, Florida to Floyd and Laurice (Crisman) Plummer. She married Wayne Smolensky in 1966 and started a family. He retired from the military, and in 1979 they moved here from Luke Air Force Base in Arizona. Carine loved math, camping, and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne, her son Steven Smolensky, her sister Sandra Plummer, and her granddaughter Meagan Smolensky. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter Stacey Engstrom of Apopka; her brothers Butch (Lynda) and Gordon (Sharon) Plummer; and her grandchildren Jennifer, Mitchell, Caitlyn, and Alyssa. Carine’s family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 from 9:30-10:30am at the funeral home. A procession to Florida National Cemetery will begin promptly at 10:45, where a committal service will be held at 11:30. She will be laid to rest with Wayne. Family will also have their home open from 2pm-4pm for those that wish to come by.  Arrangements are under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Cremation Care, Inverness.
