Darcy Orgill Lesh, 68, passed away in Lecanto, Florida on January 10, 2025 at 12:06pm after her most difficult challenge with cancer.
Darcy was born to Elmer and Ellen Orgill on September 14, 1956 in Phoenix, Arizona. She was the third of four children.
Darcy and her younger sister, Denise, were often referred to as “the girls”. Elmer loved to showcase “the girls” and their talents, especially when they sang and harmonized.
Darcy learned the value of work at a young age as she and her sister were responsible for washing all of the family’s clothes regularly at the nearby laundromat. She also loved babysitting as a way to earn money.
Darcy acted in several plays in high school and began writing and directing youth plays at church. At 17, Darcy received formal church callings to be the Junior Sunday School Coordinator, teach the 11-year-old Sunday school class and lead the primary music.
After graduating from Central High School in 1974, Darcy moved to Utah to attend Brigham Young University where she studied theatre. Darcy won multiple awards for her performances. She worked at Bullock and Losee Jewelers. During her time at BYU, Darcy met David Glen Hatch and they married in 1977. They had two children, Erika and Ryan. Darcy continued to write and direct winning roadshows for the youth at church in each place she lived. She loved to bake and cook. Her specialty was chicken and dumplings. Darcy was an avid reader. She was fascinated with self-improvement books, loved mysteries and even enjoyed reading the dictionary. Darcy made friends easily and was the life of the party with her charm, wit and humor. She had a talent for writing, including poetry. She also enjoyed art, watercoloring and accompanying others on the piano.
In 1985, Darcy moved to San Antonio. Darcy had various jobs while living there, including the midnight weekend DJ for the radio rock station, 99.5 Kiss FM. While working at the Downtown Marriott in San Antonio, she met Don Neufeld. They married in 1995 and moved to Florida.
Darcy was the marketing manager at a mall in Bradenton, Florida. She enjoyed spending time with her dog Kudra, an Akita, and loved going on walks and exploring the surrounding nature. Crotons were her favorite plant.
In 2002, she married Kevin Lesh. They sailed around the Bahamas for a decade together. Darcy and Kevin worked on Johnny Depp and Tyler Perry’s islands. Darcy even exchanged reading books with Johnny Depp.
Darcy was meticulous and handled her possessions with care. Although she had the same clothes for over twenty years, they still looked new. She loved setting goals and accomplishing them, including learning Spanish.
Darcy loved working on family history and bringing names to the temple. She worked as an ordinance worker and an early morning seminary teacher for many years. In recent freetime, she enjoyed yoga, eating See’s Candies and bragging about her amazing grandchildren.
Darcy is survived by her husband, Kevin Lesh; her children, Erika Hogge (Brian) and Ryan Hatch (Crystal); her grandchildren, Ethan Hogge, Ashton Hogge, Megan Hogge, Owen Hogge, Mayli Hatch, Breelyn Hatch, Jazi Hatch and Kaya Hatch; and her siblings Jeffrey Orgill (Nanette), Terry Orgill (La-Dell) and Denise Ferguson (Dan).
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 10:30 am at 3474 West Southern Street Lecanto, Florida. (LDS Church) The funeral will also be available via Zoom. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home is assisting the family. https://zoom.us/j/99288654092?pwd=REE1S0xSamRxWVBqdEpvTFZqbEo4UT09.

Kevin, Denise, Erika & Ryan – my deepest condolences on the loss of Darcy. I know she meant a lot to all of you! I appreciate your outpouring of love and comfort these past few months. My mom, Nanette, filled me in on details during our conversations over the past several months. Darcy was always the fun aunt! She was always willing to go shopping or to the movies and loved to tell us girls about good skincare. Thankful I remembered some of those skincare lessons as a teen and think of her when I’m washing my face and applying lotions. Loved her smile and cheeriness. Love you all!
Kevin – thanks for loving her and filling her life with great adventures!
Thank you for the kind words and memories, Stacy!! We love you and your family!!
Cousin Darcy – I would have welcomed sharing our becoming as we personally and collectively unfold God’s love and light, knowledge, faith, perspective, joy and peace.
