Where Planning Is A Gift That Lives On
David K. Forster

David K. Forster

David Kevin Forster, age 70, of Inverness, passed away peacefully on Monday, Jan. 6, 2025, at HPH Hospice House in Lecanto.  By his side was his brother, Bill, his dear friend, Rachel, and the wonderful, caring staff at HPH.  Born on May 18, 1954, in Toledo, Ohio, Dave worked hard and played hard.

Diagnosed as a Type-1 diabetic as a teenager, Dave managed his condition fairly well by eating the right foods.  The downside was that anybody who went grocery shopping with Dave immediately regretted it!  Spending 45 minutes in the produce section is just too much!

Dave wasn’t born with a silver spoon in his hand, but there may have been a silver Snap-On wrench in that hand.  Dave’s love for all things Harley-Davidson was beyond measure.  Dave was a gifted Harley Mechanic, working at multiple different H-D Dealerships across the country.  He loved to ride and went on numerous trips across the country in his younger years with his sister, Michele, her husband, Rick, and other friends.  Dave “introduced” Michele to Rick on one such trip across the country.  That story is Rick’s to tell!

As Dave got older, he moved south to Florida, where the warmer weather was a welcome substitute from the frigid, northern winters.  While in Florida, Dave met Rachel, and the two of them became the best of friends.  They took countless day trips on their Harley’s and enjoyed playing pool with friends.  To her credit, Rachel cared selflessly for Dave, right up until his passing.

Dave is survived in death by his loving son, Benjamin, who credits his dad for teaching him honor and respect, and loving daughter, Elizabeth, who learned about discipline and perseverance from her father.

Dave was preceded in death by his mother, Sophia (Arnold) Oswald; father, Frank (Crystal) Forster; and sister, Michele (Rick) Chambers.  Surviving are step-mother, Crystal Forster; brother-in-law, Rick Chambers; brother, Todd Forster; sister, Kelly (Skip) Krysl; brother, Bill (Carolyn) Forster; sister, Cindy Soest; brother, Terry Forster; and much- loved cousins, nephews, nieces, and dear friends.

A date for Dave’s celebration of life is pending.
