James A. Hunter, 90 years, of Lecanto, passed away August 5, 2022, under the care of HPH Hospice, In Brooksville. He was born in Washington, DC, February 18, 1932 to the late James A. Hunter and Olive Mangum. James was married to Betty B. Hunter who passed away March 18, 2010.
James served his country honorably in US Army. He was drafted in May 18, 1954 and was honorably discharged May 15, 1956. He was employed by the Bell South Phone Company as a repairman, retiring after many years. He enjoyed fishing and has been a resident of Florida since 1992. Besides fishing, Mr. Hunter enjoyed retirement and lived his retirement years to the fullest.
Left to cherish his memory are 1 son; James A. Hunter, Jr. (Marlene) of West Palm Beach, 2 step daughters Robin Larson (David) of Maple Oak, IL and Vicky Kirshy (George) of Spring Hill, FL, 1 sister Mary Frances Metzer (James) of Port St. Lucie, FL, also survived by his grandchildren; George, Gregory, Billy, Robert, Dana, and Nikki.
Family and friends are invited to his Celebration of Life, Wednesday 1:00pm at Chas E. Davis Funeral Home 3075 S. Florida Ave Inverness with Rev. Paul Giglio officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 until time of service. Private burial will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
