Matteo Frank Caruso, age 88, Beverly Hills, FL passed away July 21, 2022 under the loving care of his family and Hernando-Pasco Hospice.
Matteo was born on August 26, 1933 in Staten Island, NY to the late Anthony and Elizabeth (Buono) Caruso and moved to Florida in 1974 from there. He was employed by the City of New York Sanitation Department for over 18 years. After moving to Inverness, he was a bus driver for the Citrus Co. School System. He served our country in the U.S. Navy. Matteo was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. He enjoyed gardening and reading.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 64 years, Annette (Corsiglia) Caruso; 4 children: Matthew Caruso of Clermont, FL; John Caruso of Yulee, FL; daughter, Michele and husband James Tierney of Orlando, FL; daughter, Jennifer and husband Ty Parrish of Valrico, FL; his brother, Louis Caruso of New Jersey; 7 grandchildren: Ashley, Nicholas, Willow, Brendan, Kiley, Allison, and Samantha; 2 great-grandchildren: Cruz and Romy; and also a very dear friend, like a son, Edwin Jahnes III (EJ). He was preceded in death by a brother, Fredrick Caruso and his sister, Grace Sherman.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, July 29th at 10:00A.M. from Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Fr. Gregory Andrews will be the Celebrant. Burial will follow at a later date in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Inverness, FL. Cremation under the direction of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home With Crematory. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to HPH Hospice (800) 486-8784.
