Randall B. Lyons, 76 years, passed away July 18, 2022 in Diamond Ridge Helath and Rehabilitation Center, Lecanto, 10 hours before his wife Valerie J. Lyons passed away in 7 Rivers Hospital in Crystal River.

Randall was born in Albany, NY June 17, 1946 to the late Orville Raymond Lyons and Shirley Patricia O’Donnell. He has resided in Homosassa for many years, previously residing in Port St. Lucie and Albany, NY.

Randy served his country in the US Air Force, serving in Viet Nam. He was a police officer for 30 years with the Albany Police Department and was awarded the combat cross. He was a former active member and volunteer at St. Michaels Episcopal Church in Albany, NY and an active member and volunteer at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church in Crystal River. He was a life member of VFW and American Legion Post, he was also a life member of NARLEO, where he held many board positions, throughout his tenure. He was a history buff, anything relating to the Civil War, US Military, law enforcement, and Albany, NY. Randy enjoyed cigars and being with his friends at the Tobacco Depot he frequented. He also enjoyed traveling, camping and road trips, as long as they weren’t too long, with his wife.

Predeceased by his parents, Orville and Shirley Lyons and his brother Terry Lyons.

Left to cherish his memory, 3 daughters; Michelle Irgens (Brad) of Gerrardstown, W. VA, Shannon Cline, Homosassa, and Tiffany Lyons of Homosassa, 1 brother; Donald Whitbred, Saxonburg, PA. grandchildren; James Cline, Nicole Brendlinger, Hollin Irgens, and Marit Irgens.

Family and friends are invited to a combined Celebration of Life for Randy and Valerie, Saturday 11am at Chas E. Davis Funeral Home 3075 S. Florida Ave Inverness, visitation from 10am. Military Honors for Randy will be approximately 11:30. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Anne’s Episcopal Church or Wounded Warriors, would be appreciated by the family.
