Linda Carole Jay – Obituary
A smooth flat road did not run under
Our feet as we traveled through our life.
Only the lucky miss the booming thunder,
And bypass the mountain of cascading strife.
Mother and Father, many friends thinned,
All falling to the uncertainties of health.
Then husband’s light, too early dimmed,
Leaving widow with scant little wealth.
Coal Miner’s child did not weep, in pity did not soak.
Worked hour on hour while steering daughter and child.
Still this wastrel she had time to see
Some goodness and worth inside of me.
With love and truth she tamed the wild.
In 1996 binding vows we swore and never broke.
On June 19th, in the early evening, Linda Carole Jay, aged 73, slipped off our mountainous road and left our world while held in the arms of her daughter, April Fountain and husband, Burton Jay at their home outside of Bushnell.

She has been a resident of Sumter County since 2005, previously residing in Orlando. Christian, she searched many churches enjoying the good in man.
