David K. Jayne, 83, of Inverness, FL passed away on September 9th, 2021 under the care of Citrus Memorial Hospital of Inverness. He was born to the late George and Esther May (Cole) Jayne on November 25th, 1937 in Dundee, NY. He was a Jet Engine Mechanic when he honorably served in the United States Air Force. He preceded a career at Pan Am for 29 years. He and his wife, Cecelia, made Citrus County their home 15 years ago when they moved from Davie, FL.
David was an avid crossword player, loved cornhole, loved beating everyone in Dominos, loved deer hunting with his father, he was a Pittsburg Steelers fan he loved NASCAR and go kart racing (go 7NY) and working out in his garden. He will be remembered for being there for whoever needed him.
David was preceded in death, along with his parents, by six of his brothers and sisters. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 45 years, Cecelia; his children, David A. Jayne, Cheryl & Alan Salisbury, Nancy Magrene, Margherita & Jerry Bovee, Cecelia & Mark Kidwell (his longtime racing buddy), Lora Prior, Peggy & Shawn Brace, Maria Pecoraro; his brother, Bobby Jayne; his sisters, Velma Silliman and Carolyn Merritt and his many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service of Remembrance is scheduled for Sunday, September 19th, 2021 at 3:00 PM at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home. Calling hours will be held from 2:00 PM until the hour of service. David will be laid to rest at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness, FL.
