Mary B. Nelson-Watson of Inverness, FL passed away at Citrus Memorial Hospital on September 6, 2021 at the age of 83. She was born to the late John Ford and Martha Jane (Burdiss) Boles on April 28, 1938 in Cabin Cove, WV. Mary moved to Florida with her family in 1952 and graduated as class Valedictorian from Citrus High School in 1956. She was also a cheerleader, played in the band and a member of all the higher educational clubs. Mary went on to attend Madison College in Harrisonburg, WV and became a teacher. She was an educator for 50 years and retired as an elementary school principal. Mary was a very determined woman and always strived for the best. If she became a member of an organization, she would work to become the president of that organization. She could accomplish just about anything she set her mind to.
Those left to mourn Mary’s passing include her husband, Harold Donald Watson of Inverness; her sons: Orville “Tripp” R. Nelson, III and his wife Annie of Newport News, VA, Scott Nelson and his wife Theresa of Winter Haven, FL; granddaughter, Hope Nelson; grandson, Ramsey Nelson.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mary is scheduled for 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory in Inverness. Friends are invited to join the family in visitation beginning at 10:00 AM until the hour of service. Mary will be laid to rest privately at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL at a later date.
