James Poitras, 83, of Inverness, FL passed away peacefully on September 6th, 2021. He was born in New York City, NY to the late James and Mary (Conti) Poitras on June 2nd, 1938. He bravely served our country as a member of the United States Navy. James made Citrus County his home in 1996 when he moved from Vermont.
James retired from UPS with over 30 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, RVing, snow-mobiling, and was an avid model car/truck collector, NASCAR and Patriots fan.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years, Carole; his children, Donna (Gary) Poitras, James (Tammy) Poitras, Jeffrey (Dawn) Poitras, Jerrold Poitras, and Sandra (Bryant) Campbell; his nine cherished grandchildren; and his three adored great-grandchildren.
Arrangements for James are private at this time. Cremation with Care under the direction of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness, FL.
