Robert R. Hylen, Sr. of Lecanto, FL passed away at Seven Rivers Hospital on September 4, 2021 at the age of 88. He was born to the late Arthur and Evelyn (Hawkins) Hylen on December 29, 1932 in Randolph, MA. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. Robert received his Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and Advertising from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. Following graduation, he went on to work in the new and emerging refrigerated foods industry. After many years of service, Robert retired from the Pillsbury Corporation as their National Sales Manager. On June 18, 1955 he married Paula (Schwind) with whom he shared 66 years of loving marriage. Robert and Paula made Lecanto their home in 1998. He loved his family, his church, playing golf, traveling and playing cards. Robert also liked to volunteer his time.
In addition to his wife Paula, those left to mourn Robert’s passing include his children: Andrea Hylen, Joanne Brown (Patrick), Robert Hylen, Jr; grandchildren: Mary (Jesse), Elizabeth, Amy (Patrick), Julie (Thomas), Hannah, Lucas, Matthew, Nathaniel, Makenna; great grandchildren: Lucille, James, Evelyn. Robert was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Hylen; grandchild, Cooper; brothers: Ronald Hylen, David Hylen; sister in law, Ellen Hylen.
Robert will be laid to rest with full military honors at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA on October 8, 2021 at 11:30 AM.
