Patti Claire Ballard of Inverness, FL passed away at her home while surrounded by her loving family on August 27, 2021 at the age of 65. She was born to the late Carl Hazen and Donna Evelyn (Webster) Page on December 26, 1955 in Haverhill, MA. Patti relocated to Miami for her high school years where she made a few lifelong friends. Patti earned her Bachelor’s Degree in education from Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga then went on to do missionary work in the Bahamas. Once she returned from missionary work she made Citrus County her home in 1979 and on June 14, 1980 she married Michael Philip Ballard with whom she shared 41 years of loving marriage.
Patti was extremely dedicated to her family. She felt very strongly about homeschooling her children, grandchildren, and helping other families with their homeschool journey for over a quarter of a century. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing and scrapbooking. She had also enjoyed raising dairy goats for many years and was a member of the American Dairy Goat Association.
In addition to her loving husband Michael, those left to mourn Patti’s passing include her sons: Seth Ballard and his wife Robin of Inverness, Joshua Ballard and his wife Leah of St. Cloud, Carl Ballard of Inverness; daughter, Hannah Ringstaff and her husband James of Jacksonville; brother, Carl “Buster” Page, Jr. of Salt Springs, FL; sister, Jacquelyn Hudson and her husband Bryan of Havana, FL; four grandchildren – Kaitlin, Keira, Christopher, Aiden and a fifth one that is on the way.
A Memorial Celebration of Patti’s life is scheduled for 10:00 AM on Friday, September 10, 2021 at the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home in Inverness. A spiritual message will be offered by her dear friend, Clarine Nordell. Patti will be laid to rest privately at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL at a later date. Chas E.
