Edward A McKenna

Edward A. McKenna, 88, of Hernando, FL passed away on August 26th, 2021 under the care of Citrus Memorial Hospital of Inverness, FL. He was born to the late Raymond and Elsie (Zinker) McKenna on February 27th, 1933 in Hartford, Connecticut. After honorably serving our country during Korean War as a member of the United States Navy and serving the Navy around the world, he returned to East Harford and became a machinist for Pratt and Whitney aerospace for 36 years
Ed enjoyed spending time at Gardner Lake in Salem Conn, which he remodeled an old summer camp meal hall into a vacation cottage for his friends and family. While there during the summer he enjoyed boating, water skiing, sailboating, and just being outdoors. He married his wife, Jeanette, in 1973 and together they made Citrus County their home in 1997 when they moved from Connecticut.
Ed was preceded in death, along with his parents, by his brothers, Raymond and Bernie and his sister Mary. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jeanette, his son, Raymond McKenna of Hernando, and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service of Remembrance is scheduled for Thursday, September 9th, 2021at 12:00 PM at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness, FL with Father Claudius Mganga of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church of Inverness officiating. Ed will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery following the services with full Military Honors. Arrangements are under the direction of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness, FL.
