Susie Bethel

Frances (Susie) Bethel, 95, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 16, 2021, while surrounded by her loving family. Susie was born on July 10, 1926 in Paxton, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Gene Bethel.

She is survived by her daughter Nancy Hannie (husband Steve), granddaughter Jennifer Pensinger, grandson Jeffrey Hannie and great grandchildren Madison Pensinger, Landon Pensinger, and Aiden Hannie.

Susie and her husband moved to Floral City from Normal, Illinois in 1975, where she and Gene owned and operated a printing business. She loved to work in her yard, read and work jigsaw puzzles. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Floral City, and enjoyed volunteering there, especially at the food pantry.

Other than her Lord, her family meant everything to her. She was always there for us, no matter what, ready and willing to do whatever needed to be done. And she was everything to her family. She is missed greatly, and will always be loved beyond measure.

A Life Celebration will be offered on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 2:00 PM from the First Baptist Church of Floral City with Pastors Eddie Quates and Mike Sellers officiating. Burial will follow in Hills of Rest Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the church from 1:00PM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the food pantry program at First Baptist Church of Floral City. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home is assisting the family.
