Edith “Edie” Marie Rosio of Homosassa, FL passed away while under the loving care of her family and Vitas Hospice in Lecanto on July 3, 2021 at the age of 55. She was born to the late Ernest Clarence and Joan Nellie (Bombard) Drake on December 16, 1965 in Keene Valley, NY and was Catholic by faith. Edie made Florida her home in 1997 after relocating Au Sable Forks, NY. She managed and operated the Nature Coast Charity Thrift Store and was very proud of the fact that the funds they raised were used to assist veterans in need. Edie was known for her charitable, kind and giving nature and the incredible lengths she went to care for others less fortunate. She truly did the work of an angel. She fed the homeless and even kept a refrigerator stocked with food in her garage so any child in her neighborhood could have a good meal if they couldn’t get one at home. Edie was really considered a mother to everyone around her. She also gave clothing and shoes to those who needed them. Edie’s family was her greatest joy and she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her family always came first.
Those left to mourn Edie’s passing include her husband of 37 years, Kevin Rosio; her children: Jayson Rosio and Cyndel Rosio of Homosassa, Tiffany Reynard and Daniel Reynard of Beverly Hills; brothers: David Drake (Diane), Edward Drake (Helen), Frederick Drake (Wanda), Howard Drake (Amy) and Richard Drake all of Au Sable Forks, NY; and 7 grandchildren.
A Celebration of Edie’s Life is scheduled for Sunday, July 11 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Whispering Pines Park Recreation Center in Inverness. It is requested of those who are planning to attend, to please bring along a covered dish for everyone’s enjoyment. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Edie’s memory in care of Kevin Rosio. Cremation care by Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness.
