Jose D. Gonzalez, born on January 24th, 1953, in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. Jose was a proud father, army veteran, and a beloved husband. Jose peacefully passed away at the age of 68 on Thursday June, 24th, 2021. He is survived through his wife; Gloria I. Gonzalez, daughter; Taina I. Gonzalez, son; Jose D. Gonzalez Jr., son-in-law Erik R. Miner, and granddaughters Annie K. Miner, and Jasper L. Miner.
Jose was an army veteran of 21 years, retiring as a Sargent First Class. It was during his time in the service that he met the love of his life, Gloria. On June 30th, 1990, Jose and Gloria were married. Within the next few years, their children, TaÃna and Jose Jr. were born, and the family was complete.
Jose then spent another 21 years with the Citrus County School Board as a bus driver. Through out his career, he was known for being one of the biggest personalities in the room. His smile and laughter was contagious, and he still would always go out of his way to make anyone laugh. His caring nature and charming personality made him extremely memorable. Whether you knew him for 10 years or 10 minutes, everyone who came in contact with Jose have nothing but loving memories of him.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 8th at 10:30AM at Our Lady of Grace, 6 Roosevelt Blvd, in Beverly Hills, Florida. Following the service, the Interment will be held at 1:30PM at the Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave in Bushnell, Florida. The Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home is assisting the family.
