Phillips E. Porter, Jr., age 93, Homosassa, FL passed away May 28, 2021 at Avante at Inverness. Mr. Porter was born in Cleveland, OH on February 16, 1928 to the late Phillips E. Porter, Sr. and Margaret (O’Brien) Porter and came to Florida in 2002 from Columbus, OH. He was a retired Senior District Manager for Dubois Chemical Company in Cincinnati, OH and served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
His memory will be cherished by his 2 sons, Phillips E. Porter, III and his wife Marla from Haskins, OH and David M. Porter and wife Susan from Sunbury, OH; 1 sister: Joan Robinett, Danvers, MA; 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; His companion of 12 years, Joan Barrett. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Porter on June 11, 2005.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 12:00 Noon from the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Florida National Cemetery beside his wife. Military Honors will be rendered. Friends may visit the family Thursday from 11:00 AM until the service begins. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to: HPH Citrus Hospice House, 2939 W Gulf to Lake Hwy, Lecanto, FL 34461.
