Herbert A Weigold

Herbert A. Weigold, 92, of Inverness, FL passed away on May 23, 2021 in Inverness while under the care of Arbor Trail Rehab and VITAS hospice. He was born to the late Emil and Louise (Niethold) Weigold on April 21, 1929 in Boston, Massachusetts. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for the majority of his life and even owned and operated his own heavy machinery business for some time. He made Citrus County his home in 1982 when he moved from Brockton, Massachusetts. He bravely served his country as a member of the United States Army and was very proud of his military service. He was devoted to his country and family, and enjoyed spending time with his wife of 22 years, Barbara, and traveling around the United States in their RV. Herbert visited all 50 states throughout his time traveling and many of them even twice. He loved to be with his family, play cards, and go to the Casino. He will be remembered for being the life of the party and loving to dance.
Along with Herbert’s parents, he was preceded in death by his late wife of 49 years, Santa (Sandra), in 1998, his brother, George, and his granddaughter, Kimberly Bartlett. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Barbara; his four children, James (Ivy) of Taunton, Massachusetts, Herbert J. “Chicky” (Gail) of Bridgewater, Massachusetts, Kevin (Karen) of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, and Wayne (Kathleen) of Bridgewater, Massachusetts; his step-son, Stephen Saraceno (Beverly) of St. Mary’s, Pennsylvania; his 16 cherished grandchildren; and his 20 adored great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service for Herbert will be conducted on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 11:30 AM, from the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, with military honors provided by the Inverness VFW Post #4337. The procession to the cemetery will leave the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home in Inverness at 10:45 AM. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:30 AM until 10:45 AM.
