Virgil L Oliver

Virgil Lynn Oliver of Inverness, FL passed away at Citrus Memorial Hospital on May 2, 2021 at the age of 84. He was born to the late Charles Virgil and Helen (Hill) Oliver on January 27, 1937 in Toledo, OH. Virgil proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy. Following his military service, he began a career in law enforcement and was a Police Officer for the City of Toledo, OH retiring after 20 years of service. Virgil made Citrus County his home 20 years ago after relocating from Ohio. He enjoyed woodworking and was a member of the Nature Coast Wood Carvers Club. Virgil loved horses and was also a member of the Central Florida Buggy Friends Club, an organization that brought members together to explore the trails of Florida by horse and buggy and enjoy the outdoors. He also enjoyed camping, fishing and boating.

Those left to mourn Virgil’s passing include his son, Jeffrey Oliver and his wife Kathy of Toledo, OH; daughters: Kathy Conrad of Inverness, FL, Kristine Oliver of Toledo, OH; brother, Gordon Oliver and his wife Diana of Perrysburg, OH; and 4 grandchildren. Virgil was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene (Beaupry) Oliver in April of 1987 and brothers: Melvin and Dennis Oliver.

A Gathering of Friends and Family is scheduled for Monday, May 10, 2021 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home in Inverness. Full military honors will be rendered by Floral City VFW #7122. Immediately following the service at the funeral home, friends are invited to join Virgil’s family for further fellowship at the I.R.R.U. Family Social Club located at 922 S.
